24.
INT. HALLWAY, JASON’S HOUSE – DAY

JASON’S DOPPELGANGER is carrying EMILY in his arms and about to walk out the front door.

JASON’S DOPPELGANGER

(shouts to ZOE)

EM’ is coming with me, babe, to make sure the hunter-gatherer bags the right wee-beasties.
(whispers to EMILY)
And the right sweeties.

JASON

Keep going. Don’t stop!

ZOE

Hang on there, you two. I need little miss to stay here with me. She can help me in the kitchen. You want to help me with dinner, Em?

EMILY

(reluctantly)

Sure, Mum.

JASON’S DOPPELGANGER lowers EMILY to the ground.

JASON’S DOPPELGANGER

(to EMILY)

I won’t be long, Angel.

EMILY

You’ll still get the sweets, won’t you, Dad?

JASON’S DOPPELGANGER

Don’t worry, I will. Be good for your mum while I’m gone, okay.

JASON’S DOPPELGANGER walks out the door.

JASON

No-No-No. Stop!

EMILY walks down the hallway, towards the kitchen.

JASON lunges forward and tries to grab EMILY, but collapses in pain before his hand reaches her.

25.
EXT. THE PLATEAU, HELL – AS DUSK

THE PLATEAU is a vast flat plain between the dunes of THE DESERT and THE MOUNTAIN. Standing in regimented lines across THE PLATEAU are millions of LILITH’S FLOWERS.

THE DESERT is a baron wasteland of immense rolling dunes.

THE MOUNTAIN would dwarf Everest, with a sheer face, and looks like it is made of volcanic rock.

LILITH’S FLOWERS are naked human statues. Their sex is not apparent as they have no genitals, breasts, or hair. LILITH’S FLOWERS are grey with rough skin, and are all identical in looks and stance; they are all facing the mountain and standing with heads slightly bowed, eyes closed, and arms resting at their sides.

JASON is laying in heap on the ground, as a sandstorm rages around him.

JASON

(mumbles)

I have nothing more to give. You’ve taken everything. You can’t make me suffer any more than I already have.

JASON stumbles to his feet, raises his hands to his face to protect his eyes from the fierce storm.

The storm begins to clear and JASON realises that he is surrounded by countless odd looking statues (LILITH’S FLOWERS).

One of LILITH’S FLOWERS explodes in a wash of sand. The sand forms a grey ribbon and ascends in an elegant spiral towards the sky. Once the ribbon of sand is a hundred or so feet above JASON’S head, it heads towards THE MOUNTAIN.

JASON watches as more of LILITH’S FLOWERS explode at random points within the crowd and become spiralling columns of sand and begin their journey towards THE MOUNTAIN.
